In the second ODI clash between India and Australia at the Holkar International Stadium in Indore, Shubman Gill once again showcased his batting prowess, lighting up the match with a brilliant century.

The right-handed batter reached his century in style, taking just 92 balls and hitting four sixes and six boundaries along the way, firmly placing the Men in Blue in the driver's seat. This marked Gill's sixth ODI century, and he now stands just 83 runs away from breaking Hashim Amla's record for the fastest 2000 ODI runs.

Regarding the game, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer combined forces to dominate the Australian side after the early departure of Ruturaj Gaikwad, who managed just 8 runs off 12 balls before falling victim to Josh Hazlewood's skilful bowling, caught behind by wicketkeeper Alex Carey.

The dynamic duo of Gill and Iyer formed a remarkable double-century partnership for the second wicket. Iyer, in particular, played a scintillating innings, amassing 105 runs off 90 balls, embellishing his performance with three sixes and 11 boundaries.

The 200-run partnership was eventually disrupted when Sean Abbott took a diving catch to dismiss Iyer.

Australia's stand-in captain, Steve Smith, won the toss and chose to bowl first in the match. With regular captain Pat Cummins, Mitchell Marsh, and Marcus Stoinis rested, the Australian side introduced Alex Carey, Josh Hazlewood, and Spencer Johnson into the playing XI.

In contrast, India made just one change to their lineup, with Jasprit Bumrah making way for Prasidh Krishna, who stepped in for the unavailable Bumrah.

India had previously secured a five-wicket victory in the first ODI, thanks to a superb five-wicket haul from Mohammed Shami. They currently lead the three-match series 1-0.
